View modes allow organizers to set the focus exactly where they want it, both for them and their audience.
There are three View modes:
- Gallery
- Spotlight
- Audience
Let's analyze each view mode from two perspectives:
- in Conference mode (no tool, file or link embedded)
- with a tool, file, link or resource embedded
1. Gallery
- Gallery in Conference mode:
The audience is the main focus of this view, with Hosts, Assistants, Speakers, and/or participants shown on the main screen.
- Gallery with a tool, file or link embedded:
The resource takes center stage, while the host, assistants, speakers, and/or participants who are active appear in a pop-up window on top of the tool. This pop-up shows only one person at a time, therefore showing the most active Speakers, Moderators, or attendees.
2. Spotlight
- Spotlight in Conference mode:
This view mode puts, by default, the spotlight on one person. You can have more than one person in the spotlight.
You can promote up to four people to the spotlight:
- Click on Participants (lower right corner, by the chat).
- Find the participant you want to add to the spotlight. Click on More options (⋮).
- Click Add to spotlight.
- Spotlight with a tool, file or link embedded:
The resource takes center stage, while Speakers, Moderators, or participants in the Spotlight appear in a pop-up window on top of the tool. This pop-up shows only one person at a time, the most active Speaker, Moderator, or attendee.
You can promote more people to the spotlight:
- Click on Participants (lower right corner, next to chat).
- Find the participant you want to add to the spotlight. Click on More options (⋮).
- Click Add to spotlight.
3. Audience
- Audience in Conference mode:
As the name suggests, the main focus of this view is the audience. Without any resources embedded, this view shows the audience in a bar at the top of the screen, and it also promotes one person in the center.
- Audience with a tool, file or link embedded:
When there are resources embedded, this view will show the audience in a bar at the top of the screen, and the tool, file, or link in the center of the screen.
👉 Set selected view for everyone
As a Moderator (Host or Assistant), you can decide how your audience will view the session. You can enforce which one of the three view modes participants see. They will not have the possibility to switch between views.
